Chapter 751: The Trap

Although Zhang Shan's "Tian Xing Jian" would make his physique comparable to a "Di Ji," the Qinglong before them could easily kill all "Di Ji."

In that case, it seemed that "Tian Xing Jian" alone was not enough.

But Chu Tianqiu was also facing an unprecedented dilemma. Could he really swallow the eyeballs of multiple "Hui Xiang Zhe" in an instant?

Qinglong saw the two fall silent again and spoke up, "I've said my piece. Now it's your turn to answer my questions. You've been stirring up trouble on this rooftop for so long, and every word has been crystal clear to me. Was it all just to lure me out?"

Chu Tianqiu smiled slightly and replied, "We wouldn't dare. We knew we couldn't hide these things from you, so we decided to lay it all out."

Qinglong scratched his ear with his pinky finger, then swept his gaze over Chu Tianqiu and Qi Xia with a smile. Soon, he grinned widely, baring his teeth, "Though speaking of it... 'Dian Ren' and 'Sheng Sheng Bu Xi' are indeed intriguing. This combination is more interesting than any before."

"Interesting?" Qi Xia raised an eyebrow. "Based on your experiences over the times, do you think the two of us can succeed?"

"I can only say it's promising." Qinglong nodded. "After waiting so long, there's finally some entertainment. These two ants not only want to burrow into my eyes but have even learned the exalted immortal arts of the ants. One can temporarily pretend to be a 'person,' and the other can revive more ants. How fascinating."

"So that's how you see it?" Qi Xia said. "Then, all the things you've done for these two ants—are they just for your own amusement?"

"What else? I've lived too long; it's time to amuse myself a bit."

"That's strange." Chu Tianqiu laughed. "As you just said, you and Tianlong could find plenty of 'amusement' for yourselves in a split second. So why go to all this trouble? And why did you open 'Jian Mo'? What are you really planning?"

"Oh?" Qinglong smirked. "In your view... what am I planning?"

"You want Tianlong's life," Qi Xia said bluntly. "You need the two of us as your helpers."

Chu Tianqiu, standing nearby, slowly turned his head to look at Qi Xia, feeling that his statement was a bit too bold.

Even if Qinglong's true goal was to kill Tianlong, it shouldn't be stated so openly here.

After all, the three of them each had their own agendas and could only use one another.

Otherwise, even if they succeeded in overthrowing Tianlong, he and Qi Xia wouldn't escape—Qinglong would surely silence them.

"That's right."

Qinglong pondered for a moment and nodded without hesitation, "I do want Tianlong's life. I want him dead."

Chu Tianqiu hesitated slightly, "But you clearly have strength on par with Tianlong. Why do you need our help? If you really wanted to kill him... there should be plenty of opportunities."

"The situation between me and Tianlong is complicated..." Qinglong said. "To prevent us from fighting each other, he set a bizarre rule. Not only does it make it impossible for me to kill him, but it also turned both of us into these neither-male-nor-female monsters. So, I have to rely on outside forces."

Only then did the two notice that Qinglong's appearance was indeed odd—feminine if called a man, yet masculine if called a woman.

With his ink-green long hair and loose robes that hid his figure, they couldn't even tell his gender.

"Don't call us outsiders," Qi Xia shifted the topic. "We're on your side now."

"No, no one is on my side." Qinglong shook his head. "Not even now. I'm using your hands to kill Tianlong, but that doesn't mean we're together. If anything in this plan doesn't suit me, I might just kill you both on the spot."

"Since we're not on your side, why did you help us?" Qi Xia asked.

"No, Qi Xia. You helped me," Qinglong said.

"How did I help you?"

"I can sense that Tianlong seems... to have fallen into some trap yesterday."

"A trap...?"

Chu Tianqiu turned his head toward Qi Xia.

"I don't know how you did it," Qinglong continued, "but you've certainly bought yourselves some time. Tianlong's awakening has been delayed again. I feel this is everyone's chance."

"You..." Qi Xia narrowed his eyes slowly. "Is that really true...?"

"Absolutely." Qinglong said, "He must have overused his 'Xinnian,' but I don't know how long he'll be delayed. So, if you want to do something, go ahead and do it."

Hearing Qinglong say this, Qi Xia suddenly felt uneasy.

The fog before him thickened, and the path that had faintly emerged now retreated back into the mist.

Qinglong's appearance today carried an intense sense of discord, and Qi Xia couldn't pinpoint where it came from.

This feeling made him hesitant to act rashly.

"What's wrong? Isn't this a good thing?" Qinglong asked.

"I'm not sure." Qi Xia narrowed his eyes and shook his head. "Tianlong only wakes up on the tenth day. He's been in slumber all this time, yet he can still sense what's happening here."

"That's right." Qinglong nodded.

"Then won't he be even angrier when he wakes up?" Qi Xia asked. "How could he possibly let me off?"

"Because Tianlong is tolerant of you." Qinglong laughed. "Since you're standing here safe and sound, it means he won't come after you with full force."

Upon hearing this, Qi Xia finally realized where the problem lay.

Qinglong was stirring things up; today, he seemed unusually impatient.

Why, after so much time of just watching coldly, was Qinglong so urgent in this cycle?

Though clueless about the full picture, Qi Xia's instincts kept sending him danger signals. He'd gambled for decades now, winning more than losing, and he couldn't risk it all at the final stage.

"Qinglong, I'll ask you one last time." Qi Xia said. "Do you think the two of us can succeed?"

"Do you want the truth or a lie?" Qinglong countered.

"I want the first thing that flashes through your mind." Qi Xia replied.

"Ha, in that case... I feel a bit regretful." Qinglong chuckled maniacally. "Because standing here are two 'men,' so this will be difficult."

Qi Xia furrowed his brow upon hearing this. Even with his partial memories restored, he still didn't quite understand what "two men" meant.

"Why is it difficult because there are two 'men'? Does escaping this place... require two 'women'?" Qi Xia asked.
