Chapter 748: Celestial Visitors

Although their faces were not clearly visible, based on their clothing, they appeared to be Yunyao and Zhang Chenze, with a slender girl following behind them, who was likely Li Xiangling.

The three girls spotted Tiantian standing in the middle of the school playground and quickly hurried over to greet her. It seemed that during the time Qixia had not met them in Qixia, the group had built a good friendship.

Qixia and Chutianqiu were quite far away, so they could not hear exactly what was being said, but they could sense that the girls were both happy and sad.

After experiencing the "Tianma Shike," these people were gradually converging at "Tianguokou." After all, this was a landmark building, and it offered the highest chance of finding lost companions.

Seeing the girls chatting on the school playground, Qixia slowly raised the corners of his mouth and said to Chutianqiu:

"Chutianqiu, if you don't want me to revive Wenqiaoyun, how about we make a bet?"

"... What kind of bet?"

"We'll go by what those girls say."

"Yunyao...?"

Qixia nodded and said:

"If Yunyao, Zhang Chenze, and Li Xiangling bring up Wenqiaoyun within three sentences after seeing me, I'll let her live."

Chutianqiu was slightly taken aback and then smirked: "You're really going crazy."

"Want to bet?"

"Is this even about daring to bet? Neither Yunyao, Zhang Chenze, nor Li Xiangling knows Wenqiaoyun, so there's no chance they'll bring her up." Chutianqiu said, "Are you sure you want to bet on this?"

"I'm sure." Qixia nodded. "Just within three sentences—if none of them mentions Wenqiaoyun to me, I lose. If any of them does, you lose."

"What happens if you lose?"

"If I lose, I'll dig out another eye for you."

"Both eyes."

"Deal."

With the bet settled, the two turned to face the setting sun and prepared to head downstairs to welcome their new guests.

But as soon as they turned around, they noticed a person standing quietly on the rooftop, where a gentle breeze was blowing.

This person was about seven or eight steps away from them and had arrived without making a sound, as if he had been there all along.

Upon seeing him, Qixia and Chutianqiu both showed no expression, as if they had expected his arrival.

"How should I put this..." A voice that blended male and female tones came from the person's throat, carrying a hint of reluctance.

Qixia and Chutianqiu just stood there quietly, neither saying a word.

"Qixia..." the person said with a slight smile, "Though it might seem like I'm helping you, you can't treat me like some subordinate. That would put me in a tough spot."

"What's the matter?" Qixia smiled. "On this land, is there something even you, Qinglong, can't handle?"

"You're just standing here chatting openly, with the sun still up and the train not yet gone." Qinglong shook his head. "Do you really expect me to kill 'Tiangou'? That kid has deep feelings for us, and it took a lot of effort to calm him down this time."

"That's not my concern." Qixia said, "Besides, we really do need to talk to you."

Qinglong understood and smiled slightly, then snapped his fingers.

In an instant, the three were enveloped in a strange aura, and all surrounding sounds faded away.

Downstairs, Zhengyingxiong suddenly looked up, freezing in place.

Tiantian noticed his odd behavior and squatted down to check on him: "What's wrong, Hero?"

"This smell... What is it?"

Zhengyingxiong stared wide-eyed at the school rooftop, where he could only see the backs of Qixia and Chutianqiu, but he knew there should be a third person there, standing in his blind spot.

The smell on that person was too strange.

"I smell 'God' and 'Immortal,' I smell 'Foul Odor' and 'Fragrance,' I smell 'Yin' and 'Yang'..." Zhengyingxiong murmured. "What on earth is that?"

"What are you saying?" Chenjunnan frowned at Zhengyingxiong. "I get most of it, but what's this 'Yin Yang' thing?"

Qindingdong thought for a moment and asked: "Is it some kind of 'Echo'?"

"No..." Zhengyingxiong shook his head. "It's not the 'Echo' you mean... It's not a 'Thought' either; it's more like... a 'State'?"

Even Zhengyingxiong sounded unsure about his own words—this was the first time in his memory that he had smelled something like this on someone.

"This 'Yin Yang' smell is almost like 'Death' and 'Life'—a persistent state attached to that person, obscure and hard to understand."

"A state?" Chenjunnan scratched his head. "A state like 'Death' and 'Life'? So, is there some kind of yin-yang person up there?"

"I don't know." Zhengyingxiong nodded. "Chenjunnan, I want to go up and check."

After hearing that, Chenjunnan stepped forward and pressed down on Zhengyingxiong's head: "What's with 'Chenjunnan'? Call me bro."

"Stop messing around." Zhengyingxiong tried to push Chenjunnan's hand away, but after several attempts failed, he said seriously with the hand still on his head, "I think Qixia is in danger. That person has all sorts of smells, but no human scent at all."

"Ha." Chenjunnan glanced up at Qixia's back on the rooftop and smiled. "Does Old Qixia have any human scent on him right now?"

"He..." Zhengyingxiong hesitated. "If you're saying it like that... he really doesn't."

"Then what's the problem?" Chenjunnan said. "People of certain statuses talk to people of certain statuses. Those two are birds of a feather, so why worry?"

"Birds of a... feather?" Zhengyingxiong turned to look at Chenjunnan, thinking for the first time that an adult could be even less cultured than him.

"So just relax." Chenjunnan added, "If Old Qixia is really in danger, he'll yell down something like 'Ahhh, Brother Junan, get up here and save me right now.' We'll go then."

Zhengyingxiong stared at Chenjunnan expressionlessly for a long time before slowly saying: "Can you move your hand off my head?"

...

On the rooftop.

After activating "Jianmo," Qinglong stretched his neck and looked at the two in front of him with a pair of ink-green eyes.

"Looks like a lot has happened to you two."

In just a few short days, Qinglong felt that both of them had changed completely.

Chutianqiu's appearance was entirely different from before, but his aura remained the same.

Qixia, on the other hand, looked mostly unchanged, but his aura was worlds apart from what it had been.

"Is that so?" The two replied ambiguously, their eyes tinged with caution.

After all, the person before them was Qinglong, one of the two rulers of this place.

"It's strange, really." Qinglong said, "People who retain their memories long-term don't change much, but those who keep losing theirs change more and more. So, is it the changed ones who are crazy, or the unchanged ones?"
