Chapter 738: Finding Someone

Qi Xia walked towards Tian Tang Kou and stopped in front of the Xian Shi Ping on his own.

He looked up at the Xian Shi Ping, which displayed quite a few Hui Xiang.

The largest line of text in the center read Sheng Sheng Bu Xi.

In the corners around it, there were many other Hui Xiang like Tian Xing Jian, Ti Zui, Zhao Zai, Li Xi, Qiao Wu, and Hun Qian.

Just as he had heard before, the closer they got to the final days, the more Hui Xiang Zhe would awaken in this place.

The people who had been tailing Qi Xia saw him stop and quickly ducked behind a nearby wall.

“Is that interesting?” Qi Xia asked without turning around.

Qiao Jia Jin reached out and tugged at Chen Jun Nan. “Jun Nan… he’s talking to us, right?”

Chen Jun Nan blinked. “Nah… this guy’s not right in the head. He probably thinks it’s a voice-activated screen or something…”

“Following me—is that interesting?” Qi Xia asked again.

The air fell silent for a moment.

“Fine.” Chen Jun Nan pondered for a bit, then shook his head helplessly. “Guess I’m the one who’s not right in the head.”

Since Qi Xia had spotted them, Chen Jun Nan decided to step out boldly, and the others hurried to follow.

“Hey~ If it isn’t the hot-tempered Qi Xia?” Chen Jun Nan said sarcastically. “Taking in the TV show here?”

“What are you following me for?” Qi Xia asked.

“Who the hell said we’re following you?” Chen Jun Nan shot back. “The street’s wide enough—mind your own business where we walk.”

Qi Xia gave Chen Jun Nan a cold stare and said, “Stop following me. Just go.”

Qiao Jia Jin scratched his head. “Come on, man… we’re worried about you going to Tian Tang Kou alone. It’s dangerous there.”

“Chu Tian Qiu is enough,” Qi Xia replied. “You guys tagging along doesn’t mean anything. Chu Tian Qiu won’t touch me.”

“But…” Qiao Jia Jin felt helpless but didn’t know what else to say.

“I already told you—who the hell is following you?” Chen Jun Nan pressed on. “They’re here to help me find Dong Jie. What does that have to do with you? Once we find Dong Jie, we’re out of here, so quit yapping and go on your way.”

Qi Xia hesitated for a moment and asked, “Find who?”

“Qin Ding Dong,” Chen Jun Nan said irritably.

Qi Xia nodded. “She’s right behind you.”

“Huh…?”

It took the group a few seconds to process what he meant, and they quickly turned around.

Sure enough, Qin Ding Dong was standing there with a blank expression, startling everyone.

They hadn’t heard any footsteps as they walked, yet she was only three or four steps away, as if she’d been waiting there all along.

Zheng Ying Xiong covered his nose with his hand, his face twisted in pain.

“Me…?” Qin Ding Dong looked down at her body in disbelief, then pinched her face, sensing that things were getting complicated.

“Dong… Dong Jie?” Chen Jun Nan blinked. “How did you just pop up here?”

“I… I don’t know…” Qin Ding Dong looked at Chen Jun Nan with confusion. “I only remember opening my eyes and… what’s going on? Qi Xia, Qiao Jia Jin, Xiao Tian Tian… and that jerk Chen Jun Nan? You’re all here?”

“I… we…” Chen Jun Nan struggled to find the words to explain the situation.

Since Qi Xia’s Hui Xiang was Sheng Sheng Bu Xi, was this Qin Ding Dong some kind of “copy” he made…?

“Dong Jie, do you remember where you were before?” Chen Jun Nan asked.

“I… I remember I died…” Qin Ding Dong said blankly. “I was killed by Tian She…”

Hearing Qin Ding Dong’s answer threw Chen Jun Nan’s thoughts into chaos. He had so many questions but didn’t know where to start.

Earlier, Chu Tian Qiu had done something similar by “copying” himself, but the copy had obvious memory gaps.

But that wasn’t happening with Qin Ding Dong, so was she really a “copy”?

“Lao Qi…” Chen Jun Nan thought for a long time before finally speaking up. “What the hell are you doing…?”

“Helping you find the person you want,” Qi Xia answered.

Chen Jun Nan slowly turned around, glaring at him angrily. “You know how weird your ability is, right…? Dong Jie was clearly dead… but you pulled her back… Is that okay?”

“What’s wrong with that?” Qi Xia asked. “We’ve all died and come back plenty of times here. One more doesn’t make a difference.”

“Do you think you’re some kind of hero?” Chen Jun Nan asked. “Do you think you’ve saved her?”

“I don’t think that,” Qi Xia said flatly. “Anyway, we’ve only got two days left. We’re all going to die in the end.”

“But what about the next cycle…?” Chen Jun Nan asked. “Have you thought about how many of us might wake up in the room? Even if your ability is that overpowered, you shouldn’t mess with this delicate balance!”

“A few extra copies don’t matter,” Qi Xia said. “After all, Sheng Xiao will kill off the extras according to the contract. That’s the Shou Biao Ding Li. No matter which one they kill, the one left is the real one.”

“You…”

“Anything else?” Qi Xia asked.

Chen Jun Nan was too furious to speak, and nearby, Tian Tian and Qiao Jia Jin were baffled—they couldn’t follow what Chen Jun Nan and Qi Xia were talking about.

“If that’s all, don’t follow me,” Qi Xia said, then glanced sideways at Qin Ding Dong. “Is Lin Geng dead?”

“I… I don’t know…” Qin Ding Dong replied. “We ran into Tian She, and things got pretty bad. I was the first one he killed.”

“Damn…” Chen Jun Nan muttered. “What a master and apprentice—Tian She and Di She are cut from the same cloth.”

“I don’t know if they got away… but Tian She was asking us questions, and if you couldn’t answer, you’d die,” Qin Ding Dong said with a hint of fear. “But Lin Geng and Zhang Lu Shi seemed more knowledgeable than me, so they should be okay.”

Qi Xia frowned slightly. “How many of you were there?”

“Four,” Qin Ding Dong answered. “Me, Zhang Chen Ze, Lin Geng, and Su Shan. We joined the Di Gou game, and Su Shan died. Lin Geng and I both got hurt.”

“Lin Geng got hurt?” Qi Xia pondered for a moment. “Then she’s definitely dead. Even if Tian She didn’t kill her, she couldn’t have survived Tian Ma Shi Ke.”

“Tian Ma Shi Ke…?” Qin Ding Dong was puzzled. “What’s that?”

Qi Xia didn’t answer. He turned and said, “You all reunite on your own. Don’t follow me.”

As he was about to leave, he noticed the giant clock nearby starting to swing, signaling another Hui Xiang Zhe was appearing.

Dong!

The bell tolled in front of everyone, and a new line of text appeared on the Xian Shi Ping—

I heard the Hui Xiang of Dian Ren.

Qi Xia stared at the text quietly, his face expressionless. After thinking for a few seconds, he set off again.
