Chapter 622: Expected

Di Hu paced back and forth in his room, as if searching for something.

But after searching for a long time, he still couldn't find it.

Hei Yang watched him helplessly from the side.

"What are you looking for?" Hei Yang asked impatiently. "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"

"Mind your own business?" Di Hu replied. "What's it got to do with you, damn it?"

The two fell silent afterward, both turning their heads away in annoyance.

Di Hu kept rummaging through boxes and cabinets, kicking up a cloud of dust in the room, while Hei Yang looked at the table full of food and frowned.

"So this is what you meant by 'inviting me for a meal'?" Hei Yang shook his head. "How boring. I'm leaving."

"Found it!"

Di Hu exclaimed happily, then turned around, showing Hei Yang what he was holding.

It was a plastic bag that looked fairly new.

"What is that...?" Hei Yang was a bit puzzled. "You've been looking for a plastic bag all this time?"

"So why are you butting in?"

Di Hu grumbled as he walked up to Hei Yang, grabbed a chicken leg from his plate, and tossed it into the plastic bag, followed by the bread and fruit from his plate.

Hei Yang stared in stunned silence as Di Hu snatched food from his plate like a bandit, feeling like his brain had frozen.

"Hang on a second..." Hei Yang reached out to stop Di Hu. "What the hell are you doing?! This scene feels so familiar."

"Whose fault is that? It's yours for not eating it all this time." Di Hu said. "Go ahead and take more from the table yourself."

"I just don't get it... Who is this for?"

"I'm giving it to..." Di Hu glanced at Hei Yang, then furrowed his brow. "None of your business?!"

"Fine, fine, I must be out of my mind to care about you." Hei Yang gritted his teeth. "No wonder I'm the only one in this group who bothers with you. I'm out of here."

After hearing that, Di Hu paused for a moment, then pretended not to have heard and continued packing the food from Hei Yang's plate into the plastic bag.

Hei Yang stood up and walked three steps toward the door when a knock sounded.

He froze for a second, then reached out and opened the door.

Outside stood Di Gou and Di Shu.

"Hey, boss, haven't seen you in a day, and your forehead is still as dark as ever." Di Shu smiled at Hei Yang and pushed the door open.

Di Gou lazily nodded at Hei Yang. "Good evening."

"You two..." Hei Yang was a bit confused about what was going on.

"Black-faced boss, don't you recognize me? I'm the 'Wall Grass'!" Di Shu patted his chest proudly. "And over there is the overtime dog."

This made Hei Yang furious. "Fine, fine, you two can be whoever you want."

Di Gou ignored the conversation and walked into the room, giving Di Hu a weak nod before heading to the sofa and lying down. He looked like his eyelids were drooping, as if he was about to fall asleep.

Di Hu and Di Gou locked eyes for a few seconds, and Di Hu caught the vibe, so the two of them yawned together.

Hei Yang had thought no one else would show up today and was worried Di Hu would lose face if he was left alone, so he came in to keep him company for a bit. But now, some old acquaintances had arrived.

He thought for a moment and looked at Di Hu. "Did you invite them too?"

"No." Di Hu stuffed the plastic bag until it was full, then tucked it into his pocket. "But don't worry, everyone who came yesterday will come today, and there might even be more."

Hei Yang felt something was off. He slowly walked up and stared into Di Hu's eyes for a long time.

"What are you staring at?" Di Hu asked.

Hei Yang responded by slapping Di Hu's large head with his hand.

"Hey!" Di Hu flared up. "Old Hei, have you lost your mind?!"

"You're the one who's lost it!" Hei Yang lowered his voice and said to him, "Listen to what you just said—does that sound like something a dimwit like you would say? Have you seen him?"

"I-I don't know who you're talking about." Di Hu averted his eyes from Hei Yang's face and unnaturally looked up at the ceiling.

"Damn it, why didn't you tell me earlier?!" Hei Yang whispered. "Did you have to hide it from me too? Is this food for Yang Ge?"

"Ah..." Di Hu scratched his head. "You figured it out, huh? I was trying to show off how awesome I am to you."

"Your sudden awesomeness is really hard for me to handle." Hei Yang said. "Did Yang Ge say anything else to you?"

"What else is there to say?" Di Hu thought for a moment. "Nothing much."

"Damn it... You stupid cat, what about the 'plan'?!" Hei Yang lowered his voice, but his expression showed he was getting angry. "Do you realize there's a 'knife' hanging over all our heads? You're the only one who's seen Yang Ge—why didn't you ask him about the 'plan'?!"

"You're the stupid sheep." Di Hu whispered back. "Yang Ge has lost his memory! How would he know if I asked?"

"This..." Hei Yang furrowed his brow. "So what do we do? Make our own plan?"

"But..." Di Hu scratched his face and said, "Yang Ge mentioned that someone else will come tonight... Maybe that person knows something?"

"Another person is coming?" Hei Yang thought for a few seconds after hearing that. "Did you invite anyone else?"

"No, I only invited you and the slacker dog."

At that moment, Di Shu looked helplessly at the two who were whispering loudly and said, "Bosses, I get the feeling you two were trying to keep this from us, right?"

"What are you eavesdropping on?" Di Hu asked.

"You two are talking so loudly; there's nowhere for me to hide." Di Shu said. "Why don't you just speak up openly? That way, you won't tire yourselves out, and we'll hear it clearly."

"Get lost." Di Hu said. "Don't forget you're the 'Wall Grass'—I haven't considered you one of us yet."

Di Shu shook his head helplessly after hearing that, forcing a smile as he said, "You're still the wise boss. Following a wise leader like you gives me so much confidence."

As they were speaking, the door was pushed open again, and the tall Di Tu walked in, covered in wounds. His expression was somber.

"Hey, Bandage Boss, you're here too." Di Shu greeted him with a smile. "You're still alive?"

Di Tu glanced at Di Shu, then looked at the Di Ji Sheng Xiao scattered around the room, and lowered his head helplessly. "Guys, have you seen today's 'Tian Ma Shi Ke'?"

Of course, everyone had seen the "Tian Ma Shi Ke"; they had been standing outside the game area, watching as numerous participants were slaughtered right before their eyes.

Things that took them so much effort to accomplish could be done with just a thought from the "Tian Ji."

"Everyone, what was our purpose in becoming 'Tian'?" Di Tu asked again.
