“What…?” Di Tu looked at Chen Jun Nan with interest. “Are you trying to trick me again? You clearly got lost, yet you lied to me after entering the game area… Are you planning to use the same trick again?”
“I almost forgot if you didn't mention it.” Chen Jun Nan smiled. “Let me apologize to you, young master… I don't really like lying… but I have a friend who taught me many little tricks, and I end up using them without realizing it.”
“It's no use on me.” Di Tu said. “I just want you to understand that you're a self-important fool. Ever since you entered this room, all your schemes have been under my control.”
“Is that so?” Chen Jun Nan nodded. “But I still want to tell you… If you don't agree to rebel, I'll gamble with you right here…”
He left out the last word and exaggeratedly moved his lips, using lip-reading to silently convey the word “ming” to the other party.
“You…” Di Tu heard the implication and narrowed his red eyes decisively, then awkwardly adjusted the sleeves of his shirt. “You say you want to fight me to the death…?”
“Yeah, isn't that quite a coincidence?” Chen Jun Nan laughed. “You want our lives, and we want yours.”
Sweat was still trickling down Chen Jun Nan's face. This time, he had no confidence at all in being able to kill the burly man in front of him, especially since engaging with a “Sheng Xiao” member in close combat was extremely dangerous.
Di Tu accurately caught the subtle expression on Chen Jun Nan's face, but he knew the man in front of him wasn't honest, so he couldn't tell if it was an act.
“But if I kill you all now… you'll eventually come back to life,” Di Tu said, his tone softening a bit but still showing no sign of backing down. “Once you choose to gamble, the nature of this changes. Do you have what it takes to kill me here?”
He glanced back at the immobilized Jiang Shi, then at Chen Jun Nan and the others farther away, like Cui Shi Si. “If you fight me to the death, are you that confident in your ‘Hui Xiang’?”
He paused for a few seconds and furrowed his brow. “Wait, that doesn't add up… A lot of you seem like you don't even have ‘Hui Xiang’. Where do you get the nerve?”
“I don't have much confidence.” Chen Jun Nan scratched his head and casually wiped the sweat from his forehead. “I'm the type who likes to throw out tough words first. After all, only in desperate situations can I find the drive to push forward… As the saying goes, ‘Where there's a will, there's a way,’ but if I find the road ends at a narrow plank bridge, I'll just have to force myself to improve my driving skills and pull off a one-wheeled stunt for everyone in that dire spot.”
“Can I take that as you bragging?” Di Tu said with a laugh. “I just don't believe you have the guts… If you could really kill me, you wouldn't need to send a kid here as a punching bag or gamble with me. In this game, you could just take me out without betting.”
“You seem to think you're so clever.” Chen Jun Nan said. “You've analyzed all this for me, so why not just spit it out? You're making my head spin, young master.”
“Heh…” Di Tu laughed and stretched, loosening his muscles. “What I'm saying is… you don't dare.”
“I don't dare…? Provoking me won't work.” Chen Jun Nan shook his head. “Since this is a negotiation, I have to offer something that tempts you. How about we change the stakes?”
“Go ahead.” Di Tu looked at Chen Jun Nan with a mocking expression, thinking the man was starting to back down.
“If I win your game… you'll grant me one request, and I won't take any of the game's rewards.” Chen Jun Nan said. “But if I lose and you manage to kill us all, then at the final moment, young master here will declare a fight to the death with you… That way, you not only kill me but get rid of me for good.”
Di Tu was baffled by Chen Jun Nan's words and thought carefully about what he meant.
In just a few seconds, the “Cat” team behind him and Di Tu himself were left stunned.
Seeing no one responding, Chen Jun Nan added, “Di Tu, are you saying you don't understand what young master Chen Jun Nan is saying?”
Di Tu understood, but he couldn't make sense of it.
“You mean if you're about to lose… you'll declare a fight to the death with me and turn into a native for good…?”
“Yeah.” Chen Jun Nan nodded firmly. “Although I don't fully understand how you Sheng Xiao operate, winning a fight like that would be a good thing for you, right?”
“But that's ridiculous!” Di Tu retorted. “Would you really hand over your life like that? What's your goal?”
“The goal is to get you to agree to that request…” Chen Jun Nan laughed. “If you're brave enough to agree, I'll be brave enough to bet. Only a high-stakes gamble can lead to a big win.”
“I… You…” Di Tu swallowed hard, feeling genuinely confused about the situation. Why was this man so confident?
Did he really have the skills?
But from another angle, this bet cost Di Tu nothing. Even if the other side miraculously won the game, he wouldn't die, while the opponent could end up in eternal ruin from one mistake.
“Mr. Rabbit,” Chen Jun Nan said as he stepped back to the center of the room, “if you can back me into a corner… then young master's life is yours. But if you can't kill me no matter what, that just proves you can't even handle an ordinary participant and have to humbly grant me one request… Are you in?”

“Damn it…” Di Tu was shaking with anger, his white fur all ruffled up. “Fine… You just wait…”
Di Tu reached for the bamboo-shaped remote hanging around his neck and pressed a button, then looked up at the ceiling corners of the room. After a few seconds, the broadcast announcement blared.
“The Sheng Xiao round has ended. Now, the participants may begin their actions.”
As soon as he heard it, Chen Jun Nan quickly shut the door in front of him and locked it.
“Leader!” The others rushed forward, their faces full of unease. “What are you doing?”
“Didn't I just say?” Chen Jun Nan laughed. “I've always wanted to gamble my life against a Sheng Xiao member. That way, when I get back, I can brag about it to Lao Qi.”
Cui Shi Si asked with concern, “But do you have a plan…? This doesn't sound like gambling your life—it's more like using ‘gambling your life’ as the stake…”
“I really don't have any plan at all.” Chen Jun Nan said. “But you all need to remember, if young master here fails, make sure to tell Lao Qi about my dashing exploits.”
Cui Shi Si, Ma Shi Er, and Wu Shi San exchanged tense glances. They hadn't participated in games for many years, let alone something as intense as gambling their lives—even regular bets were rare for them.
Was such a high-stakes bet really necessary?
“So, what's next…?” Cui Shi Si said. “Leader, how can we help you?”
“No need to help me—just stick to the original plan.” Chen Jun Nan said after a moment of silence. “You all go find the last Fa Bao. Once you have it, head to the exit. I'll figure out a way to get you the final two Fa Bao. Whether I win or not, I'll make sure you all get out.”
“You don't have to worry about us like that…” Cui Shi Si said. “Leader, you're the one in the most danger right now, yet you're still protecting us…”
“I'm protecting your ass.” Chen Jun Nan said. “If you all die here, how will Lao Qi know just how dashing I am?”
