Chapter 303: Right or Wrong?

"Don't you think it's a bit strange?" Yunyao asked Chen Junnan quietly.

"What insights do you have?"

"If I heard correctly... all the questions from Di She are judgment questions, right?" Yunyao pondered. "It's clearly a game where it's extremely easy to distinguish right from wrong for each person, yet they insist on using a 'minority obeys majority' answer..."

"Isn't that simple?" Chen Junnan said nonchalantly. "It means Di She, that old pervert, isn't giving out 'judgment questions' at all, but problems with no fixed answers."

"No fixed answers...?"

"That old crook talked about the rules for so long without ever mentioning 'right' or 'wrong', so whether you survive in the end has nothing to do with the correctness of the answers." Chen Junnan smiled at Yunyao. "Big star, everyone gets their own room, so I might not be able to protect you."

Yunyao nodded, seemingly unconcerned. "You take care of yourself. If possible, try not to kill me in the early stages."

"Kill you in the early stages...? What the hell are you talking about?" Chen Junnan looked at Yunyao with some irritation. "Do you think we have that big of a grudge?"

"I..." Yunyao said carefully, "I just can't completely trust you."

"If everyone understands the rules, please choose your own room at your leisure." Di She thought for a moment and added, "By the way, I encourage people who know each other to become neighbors."

After hearing that, Yunyao was slightly startled and then said to Chen Junnan, "In that case, we should probably not stay together. I'll go to the room across the way."

"What are you afraid of him for?" Chen Junnan laughed. "Just be my neighbor and relax."

"But..."

"No buts. You might not know me well." Chen Junnan reached up to fix his hair. "All schemes are useless with me. That old lecher can say whatever he wants. Today, you'll see my dashing heroism, and when you get back, you can tell Lao Qi all about it."

"Dashing heroism...?" Yunyao looked at him with some doubt. "Are you sure?"

"Absolutely sure." Chen Junnan nodded, reached out, and opened the door in front of him. "Big star, you can take the room to my east."

After entering the room and sitting in the seat, Chen Junnan looked again at the screen in front of him.

It was like a tablet computer, with a button on each side of the screen.

The left button was green, representing "yes," and the right button was red, representing "no."

Yunyao thought for a moment, then walked into the room to the right of Chen Junnan, while the others gradually chose their own rooms.

Chen Junnan looked up and saw that, since the door hadn't closed yet, directly across from him was the girl in the white dress, though it was hard to see who was in the other rooms due to the angles.

Di She nodded, then pulled down the handle next to the lectern, and at that moment, all twelve doors closed.

"Please familiarize yourselves with the facilities in the room. The game will start in five minutes."

Chen Junnan reached out and pushed the door, discovering that some mechanism had locked it completely.

He realized his impulsive habits hadn't changed.

He should have been the last one to enter the room; now, besides Yunyao and the girl in white, he had no idea where everyone else was.

"Ah, well, we'll just take it one step at a time." Chen Junnan sat in the room for a while. "My life philosophy is 'where there's a will, there's a way.'"

A few minutes later, the screen in front of Chen Junnan slowly lit up with four words:

"Game Start."

"It's starting already...?"

The room was extremely quiet. Chen Junnan stood up and knocked on the wall beside him, finding that the walls had been specially thickened.

He wasn't sure if it was for soundproofing or to prevent participants from escaping; it seemed made of solid iron, then painted over.

He stamped on the floor and found it even more straightforward—almost entirely cast from solid iron, incredibly hard underfoot.

As Chen Junnan was lost in thought staring at the floor, the phone in the corner suddenly rang loudly.

"Ding ling ling—!!"

Chen Junnan jumped in fright; in such a silent room, the phone ringing was startling. He took a deep breath and picked up the phone.

It was Yunyao on the line.

"Chen Junnan?"

"Yeah, it's me. What's up?"

Yunyao breathed a sigh of relief and said, "This phone only has one button, and it's amazing that I could call you."

"Ha, yeah?" Chen Junnan laughed and glanced at his own phone, confirming it indeed had only one button. "So, what should we chat about? Do we need to exchange ages first?"

"Be serious." Yunyao said, "Just now, a question appeared on my screen."

"Oh?" Chen Junnan nodded with interest. "What question?"

"The question is 'Are you female?'"

"Ah...?" Chen Junnan was slightly stunned. "Is this the 'question'?"

"I don't know, but I answered truthfully." Yunyao said, "Now it's your turn to answer, and then pass the question to the next person."

After Yunyao hung up, Chen Junnan went to the screen and saw the text had changed to "Call received, please answer."

"Am I female...?"

Chen Junnan thought for a moment, placed his hand on the "no" button, but after a few seconds, he firmly pressed the left "yes" button.

I answered wrong, but so what?

"Today, I'm a woman. Maybe that way I can ask Di She, that old pervert, for help."

The screen gradually lit up with "Answer complete."

Chen Junnan got up, walked to the corner, picked up the phone, and pressed the only button. After a moment, a man answered.

"Hello...?"

"Listen up..." Chen Junnan said, "The question is 'Are you female?'"

"Ah?" The man was stunned. "This question..."

"Okay, question delivered. Hanging up." Chen Junnan hung up the phone and sat in his chair, thinking for a bit.

There were twelve participants in total: seven men and five women.

If everyone answered normally and followed the minority obeys majority rule, the final answer for this question should be "no."

But was that really the case?

After waiting a few minutes, it seemed everyone had answered, and the screen flashed, displaying text that made Chen Junnan smile.

"The final answer for this question is—'yes'."

"What the heck?" Chen Junnan laughed. "So many perverts?"

As soon as he spoke, a huge chain noise echoed from above everyone's heads.

Chen Junnan looked up sharply; the ceiling was pitch black, but something massive seemed to be moving up there.

"Clank clank—"

With the room shaking, the chain noise stopped.

Chen Junnan examined the ceiling closely but couldn't tell what was above him, so he turned his attention back to the screen.

Now, his screen displayed the second question, meaning this time he had to pass it on.

"Please read the question and then pass it to the next person via phone: Did Jewish physicist Albert Einstein formally publish the Special Relativity in 1918 and, in this theory, first equate the gravitational field to the curvature of spacetime? Is the above statement correct?"

"You bastard!" Chen Junnan cursed. "Di She! You bastard! Are you messing with me?!"
