Countless stones were scattered everywhere.
Xiao Xiao shot out like a bullet. Since everyone was on the rooftop and there were no buildings obstructing the way, she flew over a dozen low-rise buildings before crashing heavily onto a street far away.
With such a severe impact, survival was impossible.
"That was really something..." Qiao Jiajin nodded.
He had thought Zhang Shan would continue killing Lao Sun, but instead, Zhang Shan began breathing heavily.
"Hey, big guy... are you okay?"
Zhang Shan's chest heaved up and down, and soon after, the sound of bells rang out from afar again.
The "Huixiang" had disappeared.
"I'm fine... just a bit tired..." He gave a bitter smile and said, "Seems like I overdid it a little."
"No problem, I'll handle the rest."
Now, on the bridge, only Lao Sun remained as an enemy.
"You, you guys..." Lao Sun knew he couldn't fight against the two in front of him no matter what. With his "Huixiang" no longer working, what chance did he have left?
"Stone Man, why didn't you give that big female guy a stone earlier?" Qiao Jiajin asked.
"What the heck?" Lao Sun was stunned.
"Earlier, the big guy and I couldn't move... The big female had a chance to kill us." Qiao Jiajin smiled. "But you didn't give her a stone."
"I didn't give Xiao Xiao a stone when she asked?" Lao Sun furrowed his brow. "How could that be... No, it can't be..."
"You're not a bad person, so I don't plan to kill you." Qiao Jiajin rolled his neck and asked, "Your boss is dead—aren't you thinking of switching sides?"
"Switching... sides?" Lao Sun furrowed his brow. "Bro... do you even know what you're saying?"
"Maybe I said too much." Qiao Jiajin nodded. "You seem capable and mentally sound, but you're sticking with a bunch of lunatics..."
After hearing this, Lao Sun slowly lowered his head and said, "Our ultimate goals conflict. Even if I joined 'Tianguokou', I couldn't work for you guys."
"It's not about joining 'Tianguokou'." Qiao Jiajin shook his head. "It's about joining me."
"Joining... you?"
Zhang Shan, standing nearby, was slightly startled by this.
"Stone Man, I'm not joking with you." Qiao Jiajin said to Lao Sun, "Deceiver needs people to help him. He can't do it alone."
"This..."
Lao Sun lowered his head in silence, pondering without agreeing or refusing.
"No rush, take your time to think." Qiao Jiajin said, "You can go. The game is over—there's no need to die here."
After hearing this, Lao Sun glanced at Qiao Jiajin, then at Zhang Shan, nodded, turned around, and walked off the bridge.
Seeing Lao Sun leave, Zhang Shan asked, "Qiao Jiajin... what do you mean by this?"
"What do you mean by 'what do you mean'?" Qiao Jiajin asked.
"Since they're joining us, isn't that joining 'Tianguokou'?" Zhang Shan looked puzzled. "Are you and Qi Xia planning to leave the organization?"
"I don't know." Qiao Jiajin said, "I never said I was joining 'Tianguokou'. I only said I'd cooperate with Deceiver. If he's in, I'm in. If he leaves, I leave."
Zhang Shan's expression grew serious.
He knew Qiao Jiajin and Qi Xia were exceptional talents, more suited than anyone to stay in 'Tianguokou'.
Now that Qiao Jiajin had gained such a powerful "Huixiang"... could they really let them go?
"Big guy, let's go touch the flag." Qiao Jiajin said, "This game is about to end."
Zhang Shan pulled his thoughts together and nodded. According to the rules, the game could only end when all surviving members of one side had crossed the single-plank bridge and simultaneously touched the opponent's flag.
"Let's go."
Zhang Shan followed Qiao Jiajin to the other side of the bridge.
Lao Sun had already taken the elevator and left, so no one could stop them anymore.
But when the two of them grasped the flag with their hands at the same time, Di Hu in the distance showed no reaction.
"Hey!" Zhang Shan waited a moment and shouted, "Is that it?"
Di Hu stared coldly at the two of them without speaking.
"What's going on...?" Qiao Jiajin was also puzzled. "We've won, right?"
"Something's wrong..." Zhang Shan furrowed his brow. "If everything followed the rules but the game isn't ending, it means we still have teammates alive!"
"Kungfu Girl?!"
Qiao Jiajin suddenly realized something. If Xiao Xiao falling into the void and returning to the bridge wasn't due to "Huixiang", it meant that falling into the void didn't necessarily mean death in this game.
Xiao Xiao must have climbed back up on her own.
The dense ropes below could slow the fall, allowing someone to survive upon landing.
The two of them thought of this at the same time and looked at each other.
"Oh no..." Qiao Jiajin pondered for a moment. Li Xiangling had fallen into the void with that man called Luo Shiyi.
And Luo Shiyi was likely the most ruthless among the three.
"Big guy, wait here for me." Qiao Jiajin turned back onto the bridge.
"What are you going to do?" Zhang Shan asked.
"I have to go down and check!" Qiao Jiajin said, "If I leave her alone, Kungfu Girl might get killed by that cheating scumbag."
"But how are you going to get down...?"
"I'll jump." Qiao Jiajin said.
"Jump..." Zhang Shan was stunned. "What if you die from the fall?!"
"That big female with a lame leg could climb back up—how could I possibly die?"
Zhang Shan wanted to say more, but realized there were no other options right now.
To win the game, there were only two ways—
One, Li Xiangling crosses the bridge. Two, Li Xiangling dies.
If they had to choose at this point, what would most people pick?
Qiao Jiajin's actions had already made it clear.
"Then... be careful." Zhang Shan said.
Qiao Jiajin nodded, looked down at the void below his feet.
The stones that had been on Zhang Shan had fallen earlier, breaking many ropes, so jumping now was highly dangerous.
But he couldn't let his teammate be beaten to death.
"I don't want to lose any more teammates in the game." Qiao Jiajin's mind flashed back to the moment when Tiantian had slit her own throat. "That feeling was too painful."
Thinking of this, he took a deep breath and leaped into the pit without hesitation.
Zhang Shan nervously rushed to the edge of the pit and looked down, only to see Qiao Jiajin moving like a monkey.
He didn't fall straight down; instead, he grabbed a rope with both hands and hung there.
After confirming his descent route, he swung his body toward another rope.
And so, he transferred from one rope to another, moving downward meter by meter.
Until Qiao Jiajin's figure completely disappeared, Zhang Shan slowly let out a sigh of relief.
"What a headstrong young man..." He shook his head helplessly.
