Qinglong stood in the empty room, taking nearly a minute to regain his composure. He then looked at Zhang Shan and Qiao Jijiang.
He knew he had won; the two who had completely lost their minds had no chance of resisting him.
He slowly walked up to Qiao Jijiang, stared into his eyes, extended his hand, and swiftly slashed, creating a terrible gash across Qiao Jijiang's throat. Blood immediately began to gush, but he remained expressionless.
Qinglong laughed as if he were playing with a toy.
"Ha... Mere mortals... are simply like toys."
Whether Qinglong was venting or genuinely feeling a flicker of defeat, he extended both hands and slashed wildly, covering Qiao Jijiang's body with horrifying wounds.
Flesh and blood began to fly everywhere, organs were exposed, and the color drained rapidly from Qiao Jijiang's face.
"How ridiculous..." Qinglong said. "I am 'Duo Xin Po.' How can you fight me while carrying 'Tian Xing Jian'? Even if you pierce your own ears to evade 'Duo Xin Po,' they will regenerate under 'Tian Xing Jian's' effect—unless there's a deaf person in the world who carries 'Tian Xing Jian'... Otherwise, you'll lose no matter how many times you challenge me."
"There will be..."
"..."
Those three short words made Qinglong stiffen.
He looked at Qiao Jijiang in disbelief, his expression full of doubt.
Was this man just accidentally answering his question... or did he mean something else?
"Qinglong..."
Qiao Jijiang slowly lifted his head, his once lifeless eyes gradually filling with hatred.
"There will be..."
Qinglong was stunned to see the wounds on Qiao Jijiang's body slowly beginning to heal. Though the recovery was very gradual, it was indeed happening.
"You..."
Qinglong's mind began to grow chaotic. He had clearly seized his reason... What was going on now?
"I feel like Guan Er Ye is protecting me. Every time I'm about to go mad, new memories surface to wake me up." Qiao Jijiang gave a bitter laugh as the wound on his neck regenerated. "Those memories not only woke me but also strengthened my determination to fight you to the death."
Although Qinglong didn't fully understand what had happened to Qiao Jijiang, it was clear he was no longer affected by "Duo Xin Po."
"But you can't win." Qinglong said. "Even if you regain your reason and fight until the end of the world, you'll still lose."
With that, he slowly raised his hand, and Qiao Jijiang involuntarily raised his hand as well.
"See? With 'Duo Xin Po,' you won't even be able to touch me from now on." Qinglong shook his head. "Why not give up early? I'll give you a quick end."
"You're right... It's really tough, even if the big guy and I team up." Qiao Jijiang smiled. "But it doesn't matter. I promised someone I'd take your life, so even if I have to fight until the end of the world, I won't back down."
Qinglong frowned at Qiao Jijiang. "Even if you die... with no next reincarnation, you still won't back down?"
"I'm not backing down." Qiao Jijiang shook his head and smiled with resignation. "I've remembered a lot from the past, and it makes me unsure how to face my old friends. Thinking about it, dying here might be the best outcome I can imagine."
At that moment, Zhang Shan shifted his body with difficulty and blinked hard. "Damn, what's going on... Didn't I already remember those memories? ... Why am I going through it again... This place really doesn't treat people like humans..."
Qinglong turned back with a gloomy expression to look at Zhang Shan, not expecting the second troublemaker to come back to life as well.
The wounds on both men's bodies began to heal gradually, but their faces were extremely weak.
Even so... they showed no sign of giving up.
Qinglong started to tremble slightly all over, his voice hoarse as he said, "You've caused me a world of trouble... My grand plan over all these years has been derailed by you two..."
Though he was furious beyond measure, he couldn't instantly tear these two men apart, and his anxiety reached its peak.
"This must be why the two of us are here." Qiao Jijiang clenched his fist. "Whether we win or not, we won't let you succeed."
Qinglong felt like he had been stuck with disgusting, strange plasters all day, with someone obstructing him no matter what he tried.
"Forget it..." Qinglong said with a look of despair. "You can't escape 'Jing Lei' now, so I'll give you a quick end. I'll consider these past ten-plus years as just clearing obstacles, and I'll look forward to victory next time."
With that, he began to flash around, moving rapidly between the two men. "When Tianlong wakes up, I'll tell him I personally ended this rebellion."
***
"All right...!"
Tiantian took a deep breath and opened her weak eyes to see a nearly perfect, intricately patterned wooden door in front of her.
She stood up and stepped back, but suddenly felt dizzy and almost fell. Qi Xia and Chu Tianqiu each caught her with one hand.
"Don't push yourself." Qi Xia said. "You've overexerted your 'Xin Nian.' Rest for a bit; I might need you for one last small favor later."
"Okay..."
Tiantian nodded, not quite understanding what was wrong with her body. She had only created a wooden door, yet it felt like all her energy had been drained in those few minutes.
Qi Xia turned to Chu Tianqiu. "How's the door?"
Chu Tianqiu examined the wooden door from top to bottom and then said, "It looks flawless. Very authentic. Ready to go in now?"
"Not yet; we need to verify it first."
Qi Xia nodded and picked up a piece of broken wood from the ground.
"So many fragments here—did you fight someone?" Chu Tianqiu asked. "And those wounds on you..."
"To be precise, I fought myself." Qi Xia said. "But that's irrelevant; don't worry about me."
He then used the piece of wood to gently prod the door handle.
There was a muffled creak, and the two previously unrelated rooms seemed to strangely connect at that moment. The scene inside became visible through the narrow door crack.
It was Qinglong, Qiao Jijiang, and Zhang Shan.
The three were moving at speeds impossible for humans in that space.
On the distant stairs above, there was their ultimate target, Tianlong.
Tiantian had indeed replicated such an important door.
Qi Xia paused for a moment, seemingly not noticing Qinglong in the midst of battle, and closed the door before the others spotted the crack. He turned back to the two and said, "The mission is basically complete. Invading Tianlong's dream is the final step."
"The mission... is complete?" Chu Tianqiu was stunned. "Qi Xia, didn't you see that Qinglong is still alive?"
"He was never meant to die." Qi Xia shook his head. "Having someone hold him back is the best outcome. Are you prepared?"
Chu Tianqiu realized that from this door to Tianlong's position, it was probably just a few dozen steps—a short sprint if they went full speed.
Unfortunately, that path was blocked by a Qinglong who seemed completely unhinged.
