Tian Ma was holding Di Ma with one hand, and they had been rapidly "leaping" down the hallway for quite a while.
They had entered and exited many rooms one after another but still hadn't found any trace of Tian Hu. Even though she was deeply worried about her precious grandson, Tian Ma was starting to sense something was off.
Once they entered another empty room, Tian Ma finally lost her patience. She slowly let go of Di Ma's hand and stood in place, looking suspicious as she asked:
"Are we still unable to find my precious grandson?"
"No..." Di Ma shook her head helplessly. "I remember he was supposed to be in one of these rooms... How come we can't see him anywhere?"
"This is a Ren Ji room." Tian Ma glanced around the cramped and narrow space. "There's no way my precious grandson would be in a place like this..."
"Oh...?" Di Ma chuckled lightly, then locked the door. "So this is a Ren Ji room? That explains why it's so small—two people can barely stand in here without any room to move."
Tian Ma clasped her hands behind her back and furrowed her brow at the strange Zodiac figure in front of her. "You're acting oddly, young one... Do you have some plan in mind?"
"Oh, yes." Di Ma nodded, her body covered in wounds, as she slowly took a step forward. "I have some secrets I want to share with you privately. It's not convenient with others around."
"Secrets?"
"About you and Tian Hu—someone wants both of you dead." Di Ma said with a serious expression. "We don't have much time left to act on this."
"What...?" Tian Ma was stunned. "Who wants us dead? My precious grandson has only just learned to walk... Have these people lost their minds? They're going after the elderly and children?"
"I'll tell you." Di Ma took another step forward and gently grasped Tian Ma's arm. "The one who's lost their mind... is me."
Tian Ma's eyes widened slightly, and in the next second, a massive explosion erupted in the room. Although Tian Ma had already been on guard against this strange young person, she never expected their attack to be so terrifying.
She didn't know what had exploded in the room or exactly where she had been hit; all she could do was desperately dodge, but she felt a chill in her lower body, making it hard to stand.
The surrounding walls cracked extensively from the massive blast, and both of them were flung backward, slamming into the walls behind them.
Two limbs flew through the air in the room, splattering blood everywhere.
Both finally felt the pain and cried out in agony simultaneously, but the room was so narrow that there was no way to avoid the shockwave. It bounced off the walls and knocked them both to the ground.
As the dust settled, Tian Ma slowly lifted her head and looked at the two limbs that had landed in the center of the room—one was an arm, and the other was a leg.
Gritting her teeth, she felt her lower body and realized one of her legs had been severed, with blood gushing out onto the floor. Di Ma across from her wasn't in much better shape— one of her hands was completely shattered, and the other was severed at the shoulder; she was now slumped against the wall, unsure if she was alive or dead.
Tian Ma felt that the force of this attack was even greater than a typical bomb. Even with their enhanced bodies, Bao Ran couldn't have caused such instant limb loss.
"You..." Tian Ma propped herself up on the ground, gritting her teeth as she said, "Tian She has Shuang Sheng Hua... Blowing off one of my legs won't do you any good. You're just throwing your life away..."
"Ha..." Di Ma hung her head, leaning against the door as she said quietly, "You damn old lady, Jin Si Hou sends her regards."
...
In the room of Tian Hou and Tian Ji.
The four of them were standing there, panting heavily, their bodies covered in injuries.
Tian Ji and Tian Hou were originally a handsome young man and woman, but now their eyes, corners of their mouths, and noses were all marred with wounds, and their injuries mirrored each other perfectly, like two sides of a mirror.
"Ji..." Tian Hou said with some anger, "Aren't you going to use your third ability...?"
"My third ability...?" Tian Ji paused, his expression turning a bit angry. "Do you think we're in this mess because I haven't used my third ability?"
"You said... your third ability is what got you to where you are today, achieving Tian Ji status, but you always treat it as your trump card and refuse to show it to me." Tian Hou wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. "If you don't use it now... we're going to be in real trouble."
"I..." Tian Ji fell silent after hearing this, his handsome face showing a hint of hesitation.
"Ha ha ha ha... Damn, that's hilarious." Di Hou leaned against the wall, laughing loudly. "Tian Hou, you little girl, there's no way he'll show you that third ability."
Di Ji turned to look at him. "How did you figure it out?"
"Yeah, this is just too entertaining." Di Hou said. "I'll just watch and see when this little couple turns on each other."
"Turns on each other...?" Tian Hou sneered. "You old fat man, how could you understand our unity? Physical attractiveness is the deadliest advantage humans have—it can even override abilities, since all the best resources in the world go to the good-looking ones."
Di Ji frowned, looking disdainful. "You're even more obsessed than I am, little girl... I may judge by appearances, but I don't completely ignore the heart."
"So that's why you brought an ugly monkey here to cause us trouble?" Tian Hou laughed angrily. "I really feel sorry for you, sister..."
"Are you attacking us with your words?" Di Ji ruffled her feathers. "You're the one who's got it all wrong. My ugly monkey and I came in arguing, but we've gotten more in sync as we fight. Meanwhile, you two lovebirds are getting angrier by the second. Are you about to have a fight?"
"You..." Tian Hou grew even angrier at those words. "Wouldn't you be mad if someone broke into your home and attacked you? And on top of that, you brought along such an ugly monkey. As fellow Zodiac monkeys, you've made me lose face."
"What's wrong with an ugly monkey?" Di Ji said. "You have a handsome chicken with you, and I don't see him helping out. In a real fight, he's not as useful as my ugly monkey. After all, you two may look united but aren't at heart, while my ugly monkey and I are willing to risk our lives for each other. Are you two?"
"Risking your life for an ugly monkey... I don't know what kind of spell you've fallen under."
"You two, hold on..." Di Hou finally couldn't take it anymore. "I thought you were just arguing with each other, damn it, but why does every sentence end up insulting me?"
