Chapter 1257: The Big Shot

Qiao Jia Jin saw a brightly dressed Di Ji and a female Di Zhu in the room.

The two were gathered around a small round table, sipping coffee and chatting about the romantic entanglements among the "Sheng Xiao."

For a moment, the five of them just stared at each other, and the situation felt a bit awkward.

"Uh..." Qiao Jia Jin smiled awkwardly and broke the silence first. "Are we interrupting?"

The two didn't say anything; they just stared blankly at them.

"Sorry about that..." Qiao Jia Jin scratched his head. "We'll find another room..."

"Wait." Di Ji gave Chu Tian Qiu and Qiao Jia Jin a meaningful look. "Since you're here, come in and join the chat."

After hearing that, Chu Tian Qiu furrowed his brow and glanced at Qiao Jia Jin and Zhang Shan for help. None of them seemed prepared for this kind of situation.

"What's there to be afraid of?" Di Ji asked. "You've got the guts to join the rebellion, but not to enter a 'Di Ji' room?"

"How do you know about our rebellion?" Qiao Jia Jin asked.

"Dude! Don't admit it yourself!" Zhang Shan quickly reminded him.

"You guys burst into my sister's room on the 'Lie Che,' and now you're asking how I know?" Di Ji sighed. "Come on in."

Chu Tian Qiu knew these two weren't anything to fear. With Qiao Jia Jin and Zhang Shan standing by, and him carrying "Tian Xing Jian," it was fine. Since they were so tolerant of the rebellion, there was no need to go elsewhere for an empty room.

The three exchanged glances, stepped into the room, and for safety, Chu Tian Qiu signaled to Zhang Shan not to close the door.

The female Di Zhu looked up and scanned the three of them, then turned to Di Ji with a mischievous smile. "Do you know them?"

"Know them?" Di Ji raised an eyebrow. "Oh, right, I do. Let me introduce you."

Under the three's puzzled expressions, Di Ji extended her feathered hand toward Chu Tian Qiu:

"This one is the refined handsome guy."

Then she pointed at Qiao Jia Jin:

"This one is the double-door handsome guy."

Finally, she pointed at Zhang Shan, pausing for a few seconds before saying:

"This one is just a plain double-door."

"Hey? No..." Zhang Shan said with a displeased face. "Do you have a problem with my looks? Come on, I thought you actually knew us."

"Whether we know each other or not doesn't matter." Di Ji laughed. "Even if we've crossed paths a few times before, I'm a 'Sheng Xiao' now. 'Sheng Xiao' can't reveal their real names... right, Chu Tian Qiu?"

Chu Tian Qiu wrinkled his brow and smiled slightly. "Interesting, you're a rebel too."

As soon as he said that, Di Ji showed no reaction, but the Di Zhu beside her jumped in surprise.

"Ah? Di Ji... you..."

"Keep it secret for me." Di Ji winked at Di Zhu. "We're good sisters; I won't get you into trouble."

Di Zhu nodded reluctantly and picked up her coffee from the table to hide her unease.

Chu Tian Qiu stepped forward and said, "Now that your people are out there hunting down each 'Tian Ji' for 'Dui Wei Ji Sha,' how do you have time to sit here gossiping?"

"'Dui Wei Ji Sha'... oh, right, I almost forgot about that." Di Ji nodded. "First, I don't really want to go. Second, I'm waiting for someone."

Hearing Di Ji's words, Chu Tian Qiu sensed that she probably knew "Dui Wei Ji Sha" wasn't real.

"So, who are you waiting for?" Chu Tian Qiu asked.

"Qi Tian Da Sheng." Di Ji said with a smile. "My intended one will come stepping on seven-colored auspicious clouds to find me, and then we'll go kill Tian Hou and Tian Ji."

"Cough!" The Di Zhu, who was drinking coffee, choked on those words, splattering some on her snout.

But everyone there had seen so much that no one paid attention to an ordinary Di Zhu.

"Sorry, I might need to try translating what you said." Chu Tian Qiu said with a laugh. "Do you mean you're waiting for a Di Hou?"

"Yes." Di Ji replied. "Logically, there should be a Di Hou in this rebel group, but I haven't seen one yet. It's like opening a blind box or going on a blind date without photos."

"Oh..." Qiao Jia Jin scratched his head after hearing that. "A rebel Di Hou... it couldn't be Fei Ma Mao, could it?"

"What?" Di Ji looked up and asked.

"Nothing..." Qiao Jia Jin blinked. "Beauty, I know the Di Hou you're talking about. We've met, and I've even played his games."

"What? What? What?" Di Ji's eyes suddenly lit up. "What's he like? Is he handsome?"

"Well..." Qiao Jia Jin lowered his head and thought for a moment. "He looks like a real Da Lao—very manly."

"Wow!"

Di Ji exclaimed, thinking that if even someone as ruggedly handsome as Qiao Jia Jin approved, this guy must be pretty close to Qi Tian Da Sheng.

After all, the ultimate "Hou" Da Lao is Qi Tian Da Sheng, right?

As they were talking, a shout came from outside the door:

"Hey! Damn!"

Qiao Jia Jin turned around and saw—it was like summoning the very person they were talking about. Di Hou was standing in the doorway, panting and gripping the doorframe.

"...I was just thinking from the back, the tattoos on his arms looked familiar, but the build was different. Didn't expect it to really be you..."

"Fei Ma Mao!" Qiao Jia Jin walked up and grabbed him. "You came at the perfect time. We were just talking about you."

"No... hold on... huff..." Di Hou waved his hand, indicating he was out of breath from running. "I don't have time to catch up right now; I need to find something... as long as I see my own people, that's fine... I'll go first..."

"Don't go yet! Someone here is looking for you!" Qiao Jia Jin pulled Di Hou's arm and dragged him into the room, then excitedly introduced him to Di Ji. "There you go! Beauty, the one you're waiting for is here."

Seeing the overweight, older Di Hou with his scruffy beard standing before her, Di Ji's gentle smile froze on her face.

A moment later, a vein pulsed slightly on her forehead. Suppressing her anger, she asked in an extremely soft voice:

"You said... he looks like a Da Lao?"

"Yeah." Qiao Jia Jin nodded. "Have you ever seen a gang boss? I've seen a couple, and they're just like that—very imposing and powerful."

"Good... good..." Di Ji smiled and nodded, then asked, "And you said 'very manly'..."

"See." Qiao Jia Jin said, "Beer belly, stubble, messy hair, and clothes that haven't been ironed in ages. Jiu Zi told me that's what real manliness looks like."

"Pfft..." The female Di Zhu couldn't hold it in anymore. She lowered her head, her whole body trembling.

In just a few minutes, the drama she'd witnessed was full of twists and turns. Her coffee had sprayed all over the table, and it looked like she wouldn't run out of gossip to share with her sisters for the next month.

"Ahhhhh!" Di Ji screamed. "Why? Why is this happening?!"
