Ever since Tianhu was the first to appear in the corridor, the other "Tianji" had gradually begun to show up as well. The many "Diji" in the corridor were terrified at the sight of Tianma and Tian Shu, two elderly figures, passing through, and they didn't dare breathe a word.
As they walked forward, they casually killed any "Canyu zhe" in their path. The numerous "Canyu zhe" never imagined that the "Tianji Shengxiao" standing at the pinnacle would have such harmless, innocuous faces, so no one tried to evade them in advance. All they knew was that a pair of old individuals had started clearing out all the "Canyu zhe" from one side of the corridor, with ruthless methods and immense power that ordinary "Canyu zhe" couldn't hope to resist.
"This is really strange..." said the old woman Tianma, holding a bloody head in her hand as she walked along, "How could there be so many people?"
Tian Shu, the old man, clutched his chest and, without a word, snapped the neck of the "Canyu zhe" in front of him.
"Who knows..." He bared his few remaining teeth in an ugly grin, "Might as well use them to vent some steam."
"There are just too many people... I hope my little Tianhu doesn't get led astray..." Tianma said with a worried expression, "Human traffickers have always been a headache. Without me holding my precious Tianhu's hand, he doesn't know his way around."
"Doesn't know his way?" Tian Shu glanced at Tianma with disdain, "This 'Huoche' only has one path anyway."
"But he's still a child—what does he understand?" Tianma sighed, "I've always treated him like a treasure. In a situation like this, I'm really afraid he won't be able to handle it."
"Oh, 'won't be able to handle it'—your precious Tianhu eats corpses every day." Tian Shu snorted coldly, "What are you trying to turn him into? A wolf?"
"You can't say it like that..." Tianma looked at Tian Shu, "Haven't you seen how skinny my Tianhu is, all skin and bones, and he never grows tall? It's rare for him to like something, so let him eat whatever he wants."
"Ha." Tian Shu grinned, his wrinkles smoothing out, "I heard you were missing your grandson, and I felt a bit sorry for you. But now, I feel even sorrier for your grandson in the real world."
"You..." Tianma's face turned cold in an instant, and she said sternly, "What nonsense are you talking about...? Tianhu is my grandson."
"Fine." Tian Shu nodded, "I was being naive. You're the one who's destined to live in 'Taoyuan' for the rest of your life."
"What about your subordinates?" Tianma shot back irritably, "You usually keep them on a tight leash, but now not a single one is in sight?"
"They wouldn't dare not come." Tian Shu replied, "I've already sent word through someone. Instead of worrying about me, you should worry about your so-called grandson who has no blood relation."
The two parted ways unhappily, splitting up to slaughter "Canyu zhe" in the corridor. Blood like thick mud gradually stained the entire carriage red.
Not only were the "Canyu zhe" fleeing in terror, but even the "Renji Shengxiao" were retreating one after another. After all, many of them had never seen "Tianji" before and couldn't figure out what was happening. In the eyes of many "Renji," it even seemed like the "Canyu zhe" were killing each other.
Di Shu was leading Chu Tianqiu, Qiao Jijin, and Zhang Shan along the way when they spotted the pair of elderly figures approaching slowly from a distance.
"Oh..." Di Shu paused, "The leaders have come to inspect the 'Huoche'."
He turned back to the three and said, "Have you all bought your tickets, leaders?"
Qiao Jijin stared at the two in the distance and said, "That old woman looks a bit familiar. Is she 'Tianji'?"
"Exactly." Di Shu nodded, "The old lady is the Tianma leader, and the old man is the Tian Shu leader. I think my urge to betray you has just reached its peak."
"Is that the peak?" Chu Tianqiu laughed.
"Oh, well, maybe not." Di Shu denied it, "Saying it's the peak is a bit premature. There are more 'Tianji' coming, and above them are the 'Shuang Long.' I think my urge to betray you will keep getting stronger, one mountain higher than the next."
Zhang Shan couldn't help but laugh after hearing that. "So, what are you planning to do? Turn against us now?"
"Of course not." Di Shu shook his head and bared his rat teeth in a smile, "You leaders are decent people—capable and wise. I won't betray you here. To make sure I never get the chance, I suggest we part ways right now."
With that, he stepped to one side and stood in front of a door.
"You leaders should go into the room and hide," Di Shu said. "I need to clear this path. I'll handle those two. Once I've gotten rid of them, you can head to the front of the train—it's not far ahead."
After hearing Di Shu's words, Chu Tianqiu's face slowly lost its smile and turned serious. "What kind of logic is this...? If we're going to take on 'Tianji,' the three of us can help. After coming this far together, what sense does it make for you to stay here alone and fight them?"
"No, no, no, leader, you're overstepping." Di Shu waved his hand, "This is just a simple task—how could I let you three lower yourselves to it?"
The three exchanged glances, unsure if Di Shu was showing off or making fun of them.
"You three," Di Shu continued, "Two of you are up against Qing Long, and one against Tian Long. I'm way out of your league. A low-level guy like me is perfectly fine staying here to deal with some 'Tianji.' Save your skills for the bigger leaders."
"Are you sure?" Chu Tianqiu frowned, "That's two 'Tianji.'"
"Of course." Di Shu nodded, "Besides, that's how our original plan was set up—all the rebelling 'Shengxiao' and 'Tianji' would handle 'matched kills.' Tian Shu was supposed to be my job."
"'Matched kills'?" Chu Tianqiu paused, "Scattering our forces to weaken them before facing 'Tianji'—that doesn't sound like Qi Xia's plan."
"Oh, you've figured it out? I couldn't fool you." Di Shu chuckled, "'Matched kills' is just a load of crap—smells bad and doesn't amount to anything. You hear it and feel sick; if you don't, you wonder who let it rip. Right?"
"I won't comment." Chu Tianqiu shook his head, "If there's no such thing as 'matched kills,' why are you throwing yourself into danger?"
At this question, Di Shu's gaze turned cold and sharp, making everyone feel like he had become a different person.
Qiao Jijin added anxiously, "Yeah, big rat, just tell us what's going on. Aren't we friends now?"
The word "friends" made Di Shu's expression change again, as if it silently shattered the mask on his face.
"Leader, that might be the most unfunny thing I've heard in 'Taoyuan'."
