Chapter 1251: Methods

A simple sentence sparked a line of thought for Yan Zhichun. She had never imagined that something called "Xun Zong" could produce the effect of "Yinguo."

Following this line of thought, "Chuan Yin" could also transmit messages to one's future self, and "Tan Nang" could directly seize the fruits of victory. Truly, only by being truly insane could one touch the essence of "Huiying."

"Watch this."

The old man gently pinched Yan Zhichun's long hair. The hair began to wriggle in his hand like a small snake.

In the distance, Heiyang continued to clash with Tianniu, creating enormous sounds. They seemed like performers in this vast square, putting on a fierce spectacle while everyone else held their breath to watch. However, this performance would receive no applause, and no one would leave.

Gradually, some "Jidao" members began attempting to release "Huiying" in what they believed to be Tianniu's direction. But these "Huiying" all vanished like stones dropped into the deep sea, without any response.

Yan Zhichun stared at the hair in the old man's hand. After wriggling for a moment, it stiffened like a hook, pointing toward a specific spot.

She followed the direction of the hair's tip. It didn't point to Heiyang or Tianniu, but to a strange corner in the square.

If she had to say what was in that corner, it was only "Louyi."

"See that, little girl?" the old man said. "That is the 'road to victory'."

Yan Zhichun was naturally skeptical of this claim. If the hair pointed to "Louyi," it seemed less like her own path to victory and more like something the old man subconsciously desired.

Seeing Yan Zhichun's hesitant expression, the old man's face gradually turned grim. "You don't believe me...?"

"I..." Yan Zhichun didn't know how to reply.

"Even if you knew Tianniu's location, what good would it do?" the old man continued. "Don't you know it now anyway?"

He pointed his finger, stained with black mud, towards Heiyang's direction. "We all know she's there, so how do we kill her?"

Yan Zhichun looked in the direction of the old man's finger, her face becoming heavy. Yes, everyone knew Tianniu was there, but they still couldn't gain an advantage through sheer numbers and "Huiying."

The fate of the "Jidao" members depended on how long Heiyang could hold out.

It was merely a long, helpless wait for death.

"Perhaps I have no choice but to believe." Yan Zhichun glanced again at the "Louyi" pointed to by the hair. "If you suspect someone, don't use them; if you use them, don't suspect. Now, I'll go and see what's strange about that 'Louyi'."

As she started to leave, the old man grabbed her and said, "What about the 'secret' you promised me?"

"My 'secret'..." Yan Zhichun paused before answering, "I can only say that in my memory, a 'Wumianren' was created by a certain 'Shengxiao'."

"'Shengxiao'... created 'Wumianren'?" The old man's entire expression changed upon hearing this, and the furrows on his face smoothed out, as if he had just learned something utterly shocking. "Then that 'Shengxiao' must be like a creator...?"

"If we survive this, I can tell you the story of that 'Shengxiao' properly." Yan Zhichun paused. "This might be a very long story."

With that, Yan Zhichun bent down, stood up, and walked toward the "Louyi," leaving the old man standing there in a daze.

Heiyang had taken six consecutive attacks from Tianniu. Although his arms ached intensely, he hadn't felt any real threat.

Of those six attacks, three came from directly in front, and three from above at an angle.

Would a normal person have three out of six attacks coming from above?

If it wasn't due to a liking for jumping, then there was only one explanation.

Heiyang rubbed his arms and muttered softly, "'Yin Ni', 'Kuo Yin', 'Fu Kong'—Tianniu, I've seen through you. These three abilities aren't enough to kill me."

Though he didn't know who he was saying it to, Tianniu's offensive slowed down after those words.

A few seconds later, not far away, a "Jidao" member's body shattered into pieces, clearly from an extremely powerful impact.

At that moment, all the "Jidao" members' faces changed. It was as if the beast under observation had lost control.

"Interesting." Heiyang rubbed his arms while walking forward. "Even if you kill everyone here, it won't help—in the end, you still have to deal with me."

Another "Jidao" member was shattered beside Heiyang, and the splattering blood stained his black fur.

Then, a gust of wind swept toward the only person moving in the area, Yan Zhichun.

Seeing this, Heiyang slowly grinned. "What a pathetic display... It's taken you so long to kill a few dozen people. Do you want me to help you kill?"

With that, he reached out, grabbed the neck of the nearest "Jidao" member, and hurled him forcefully toward Yan Zhichun.

All the "Jidao" members on the field widened their eyes at the sight, and even Yan Zhichun turned back in horror. She saw the "Jidao" member, who was about to collide with her, suddenly smash into something invisible right in front of her.

There was a loud crack of bones breaking, and the resulting wind nearly knocked Yan Zhichun off her feet.

At that point, anyone could tell that Heiyang had struck Tianniu. This should have been good news, but just seconds earlier, Heiyang had personally killed a "Jidao" member.

Yan Zhichun felt this was Heiyang's strategy of attacking Wei to rescue Zhao; the move had two purposes.

First, to show Tianniu that these "Jidao" members weren't his weakness—even if they were all killed, it wouldn't threaten him, which would greatly reduce Tianniu's motivation to target them. Second, to make Tianniu realize that if his attention wasn't focused on Heiyang, he would seize the opportunity to attack.

Sacrificing a pawn to protect the king; Yan Zhichun felt she might have misunderstood Baiyang's meaning—Heiyang wasn't unscrupulous, but rather his tactics were too sophisticated.

Tianniu indeed hid his form again and stopped launching attacks.

Yan Zhichun could only seize the opportunity to continue toward the "Louyi." Along the way, she deliberately observed how that particular "Louyi" differed from the others. Since these "Louyi" had their five senses removed, they all looked quite similar, and only their postures and behaviors allowed Yan Zhichun to distinguish any differences.

She quickly noticed a strange phenomenon. Unlike the situation a few minutes earlier, at this time, all the "Louyi" seemed to be squatting on the ground, touching the surface with their hands. Their movements had become uniform, as if they were all doing the same odd task.

An idea involuntarily emerged in Yan Zhichun's mind.

These "Louyi" had lost all their senses, so theoretically, they wouldn't know that people were fighting in this square.

Their way of perceiving the outside world—could it be by touching the ground with their hands and feeling the vibrations of the earth?
