Chapter 1061: Winning Strategy

Chen Jun Nan tried to stop Qi Xia, but saw that he had already reached the door of the Bei Zhan Qu.

Qi Xia suddenly thought of something and paused the hand that was about to open the door. He turned back to look at Qiao Jia Jin and Han Yi Mo.

He hesitated for a moment, then walked over to the two of them and gave Han Yi Mo a meaningful glance. Han Yi Mo immediately understood, gently laid Qiao Jia Jin down, and stepped aside.

With his back to Han Yi Mo, Qi Xia reached into Qiao Jia Jin’s pocket and took out the Shi. He then exchanged it with the Huo he had gotten from Zhang Lü Shi in his own pocket, putting the Huo back and keeping the Shi for himself.

Qi Xia felt that the Shi Qiao Jia Jin had desperately brought back could potentially trigger a butterfly effect, helping them take a big step toward "victory."

“Chen Jun Nan, I have one more thing to tell you...”

“Go ahead.”

“The extra chains—are they still with you? Let me use one.”

“Damn, I’ve got plenty of chains, kid. Hold on a sec!”

Chen Jun Nan lowered his head and pulled a bunch of chains from his pocket, handing them to Qi Xia. Qi Xia nodded, about to say something, but then glanced at Han Yi Mo nearby and hesitated.

He always worried that he was overthinking things, coming up with solutions for events that might never happen.

But now, with the situation as it was, caution was essential. Even if there was only a one percent chance of something going wrong, he couldn’t afford a slip-up at this point.

“Chen Jun Nan.” Qi Xia looked at him. “Let’s talk privately.”

The moment Chen Jun Nan heard “privately,” he understood. He quickly stepped closer and leaned in to listen.

Qi Xia whispered a few words, and Chen Jun Nan’s expression gradually became more animated.

“Oh?” He chuckled. “Alright, alright... That’s pretty interesting.”

“As long as you get it.” Qi Xia said. “If that really happens, just play it by ear and do whatever you think is best.”

“I was afraid you’d tell me to hold back.” Chen Jun Nan said. “Don’t worry, Lao Qi, I’ll keep an eye on things here. You go ahead and do what you need to. If anything goes wrong, I’ll bring you Han Yi Mo’s head.”

Han Yi Mo: “Huh?”

“It’s in your hands.” Qi Xia nodded. “I’ll be back soon.”

He opened the door, checked that no one was around, and left the Bei Zhan Qu.

Chen Jun Nan took a deep breath, about to walk over to the screen, when he noticed Han Yi Mo staring at him.

Finding Han Yi Mo’s gaze strangely odd, Chen Jun Nan became curious. He walked over, squatted down, and smiled at him.

“Wh-what’s wrong?” Han Yi Mo asked.

“Nothing at all.” Chen Jun Nan replied.

“If there’s nothing, why are you staring at me?”

“Don’t be scared, Xiao Han.” Chen Jun Nan said. “Nothing’s going on. I just think you’re interesting, so I came over for a closer look.”

“Nothing’s going on...?” Han Yi Mo clearly didn’t believe it. “But just now, Qi Xia... was he...?”

“Lao Qi didn’t say anything just now—he just told me a joke.” Chen Jun Nan said, staring at Han Yi Mo. “Want to hear it? It’s damn funny.”

Han Yi Mo shuddered at that, but quickly tried to act composed. “Chen Jun Nan, I don’t know what the joke is... but I’ve always been on your side. You have to believe that.”

Chen Jun Nan raised an eyebrow, sensing the situation was getting intriguing.

Because Qi Xia’s whispers hadn’t mentioned Han Yi Mo at all.

But Chen Jun Nan had noticed Han Yi Mo’s uneasy expression after the private talk, so he decided to bluff a bit—and unexpectedly, it exposed something.

Though it exposed something... how should he handle this case?

“Really not interested in that joke?” Chen Jun Nan asked with a smile.

“N-no, I’m not.” Han Yi Mo replied. “Just believe me. I’m completely loyal to Qi Xia—no second thoughts!”

“Ha!”

Seeing Chen Jun Nan laugh, Han Yi Mo forced out a couple of dry laughs.

In the next second, Chen Jun Nan’s smile vanished, his face turning ice-cold. Han Yi Mo was so startled that his expression froze.

“Have I given you permission to laugh with me?” Chen Jun Nan asked. “How dare you laugh along?”

“N-no... I didn’t... I...”

Han Yi Mo’s face turned deathly pale in an instant.

“Do you know why Qi Xia left just the two of us here?” Chen Jun Nan asked.

“Huh...?”

“Do you know why he didn’t say those things in front of you?” Chen Jun Nan pressed.

A few sentences were enough to make Han Yi Mo shake all over.

Chen Jun Nan couldn’t help but feel amused inside. Han Yi Mo had basically written “I’m a spy” all over his face—something even he could see, so how could Qi Xia have missed it?

But if Qi Xia had noticed, why leave him here...?

Of course—Qi Xia’s move was brilliantly clever.

Right now, Han Yi Mo was claiming loyalty to Qi Xia out loud, but deep down, he probably saw himself as one of the enemy.

As long as Han Yi Mo believed “we’re going to lose,” then the enemy would lose.

It was a guaranteed loss for them, with no room for luck.

The priority now was to make Han Yi Mo even more convinced that he was still on the enemy’s side—whatever it took to ensure he wasn’t truly loyal to Qi Xia.

So, he couldn’t try to win him over, tip his hand, or scare him too much.

If Han Yi Mo’s fear shifted from “we’re going to lose” to “I’m going to die,” then this perfect tool would be wasted.

How could he subtly manipulate this to make Han Yi Mo naturally believe he was still an undetected spy?

“This winning strategy is really abstract...” Chen Jun Nan muttered with a laugh.

“Wh-what winning strategy...?”

“Who said you could ask questions?” Chen Jun Nan said.

“Ah... no... I didn’t mean to...” Han Yi Mo said. “We’re on the same boat, so if there’s anything, you can tell me. I can help come up with ideas too.”

Though he said that, deep down, Han Yi Mo felt Chen Jun Nan was acting just like a villain in a movie—even the lines were identical.

He silently sighed, thinking he must be the protagonist, or he wouldn’t end up in situations like this.

“Yes, I know.” Chen Jun Nan said somberly, nodding. “I’m really torn right now... Do you know what Qi Xia just told me?”

“N-no, I don’t.”

“Really don’t?”

“Really.”

“He said you’re a spy.” Chen Jun Nan said gravely. “Tell me... are you a spy?”

“Ah?!” Han Yi Mo was shocked. “How could I be a spy?! I just said I’m completely loyal to Qi Xia!”

“And how could I not know that...?” Chen Jun Nan said. “Remember those seven years? Even though I was causing chaos, there was always someone upholding justice, criticizing me at every turn. Who was that?”

“Huh...?”

“No matter how many times he died, he tried to stop me in that situation. His brilliance and imposing presence are etched in my mind.” Chen Jun Nan stood up, slowly turning away, his voice choked. “Han Yi Mo, tell me—who was that person?”

“N-no way... You...”

Chen Jun Nan sighed. “But Qi Xia just told me that person is a spy... Han Yi Mo, what should I do?”
