Chapter 1003: Total Psychological Warfare

“You have… over eighty *zi* on you?” Jin Yuanxun looked at Chen Junnan with a puzzled face.

“How do you mean?” Chen Junnan said enthusiastically, “Young master will grant you one?”

“Grant me…” Jin Yuanxun muttered, feeling that something was off.

“Yes!” Chen Junnan said, “You came empty-handed, so young master can’t let you leave empty-handed. Come on, come here and take one!”

As he said this, he stepped forward, but Jin Yuanxun instinctively stepped back.

“Why be so polite? It’s for the kids!” Chen Junnan said.

Jin Yuanxun felt like he was getting caught up in Chen Junnan’s rhythm and quickly changed the subject, asking, “Hey! How could you possibly have that many *zi*? We only have fourteen *zi* between our two sides!”

“Young master’s *zi* can reproduce on their own,” Chen Junnan said, “How embarrassing for you to see this. These ‘*zi*’ just multiplied by themselves in no time.”

Jin Yuanxun calmed down and soon sensed something was fishy. Even if Chen Junnan didn’t have dozens of *zi*, he had at least six or seven.

If the other side really had all their team’s *zi* on him…

How could he be standing out in the open at Chu He Han Jie?

“Something’s not right…” Jin Yuanxun narrowed his eyes. “Hey… you…”

Seeing Jin Yuanxun hesitate, Chen Junnan didn’t give him a chance to speak. He stepped back into the room and then turned, waving his hand. “Xiao Jin! Come in and hang out!”

“Come in… and hang out…?”

“Don’t be shy!” Chen Junnan laughed, “You’re already at the doorstep, so come in for a meal. We’re not strangers!”

Jin Yuanxun took a couple of steps forward and glanced at the room behind Chen Junnan. There was a “door” with a “*zi*” written on it, but aside from that, it seemed like there was nothing else inside.

But what was with all this enthusiasm…?

“Come on! At least come in and sit for a bit!” Chen Junnan kept gesturing invitingly, making Jin Yuanxun’s skin crawl with goosebumps.

“Ya Xi Ba…”

Jin Yuanxun was genuinely confused about what Chen Junnan was up to, but following him into the room could easily mean walking into a trap.

Although the referee said the game would start automatically if two people entered the room, what if there were a bunch of the other side’s people hiding inside?

Would the game still start automatically if it wasn’t just two people?

The only outcome Jin Yuanxun could imagine was being pinned down by a group, unable to activate his “Hui Xiang,” and having his *zi* stolen.

Thinking of that, Jin Yuanxun decided to be as cautious as possible—after all, no one wanted to be the first to lose their *zi*.

“Hey! Come out!” Jin Yuanxun called out. “If you’ve got the guts, come out and talk to me.”

“I’m not going out; it’s cold outside.” Chen Junnan waved his hand. “Are you coming in? If not, I’m closing the door.”

“Closing… the door?”

Jin Yuanxun couldn’t make sense of Chen Junnan’s actions. He hesitated in place until Chen Junnan smugly shut the door, and still, he didn’t move.

He had met Chen Junnan a few times, so he had some idea of him. If Chen Junnan’s words could be trusted, then so could late-night TV shopping ads.

After a moment, Xu Liunian walked up from behind Jin Yuanxun and saw him standing dazed at Chu He Han Jie. She couldn’t help but feel puzzled.

“What’s up?” Xu Liunian asked. “Why that expression? Did you see something?”

“Hey!” Jin Yuanxun pointed awkwardly in broken Chinese at the door on the far right. “Sis! There was someone just now!”

“Who?”

“Sis!” Jin Yuanxun said, as if he’d found his savior. “Hey! I just saw Chen Junnan… he had all the *zi* on him like that!”

“All the *zi* on him? You mean he himself…?” Xu Liunian shook her head helplessly. “Xiao Jin, your Chinese isn’t great, so you might not have understood the rules. Di Long just said that one person can’t carry multiple…”

Before she finished, she paused.

Wait, did the rules even mention that?

The rules only said that people without *zi* had to go to the Bei Zhan Qu and wait until they had *zi* before continuing, but they didn’t specify whether one person could carry multiple *zi*.

So, could the other side be that bold…?

Had their whole team taken off their *zi* and stayed put in the Bei Zhan Qu, while only Chen Junnan carried all the *zi* and charged over…?

“That’s ridiculous,” Xu Liunian said. “How could there be such a tactic? Even if Qi Xia came up with it, it’s still ridiculous.”

The next second, the central door in front of Xu Liunian creaked open, and Chen Junnan poked his head out.

“Oh, Xu Dajie is here too.” Chen Junnan said, “Want to come in and play? This room seems to have good feng shui, specially for fixing ‘Liu Nian Bu Li.’”

With that, he fully opened the door, revealing what looked like an empty room.

“‘Liu Nian Bu Li’… you…”

Xu Liunian furrowed her brows and glanced down at Chen Junnan’s pants, seeing that his pockets were indeed stuffed full, as Jin Yuanxun had said, with at least five or six chains visible.

But like Jin Yuanxun, Xu Liunian was cautious and didn’t dare follow Chen Junnan inside.

If Chen Junnan’s words could be trusted, then so could the ads on telephone poles.

“Hey!” Jin Yuanxun pointed to the door on his far right. “Weren’t you just there…? How did you end up in the middle…?”

“Because young master’s ‘Hui Xiang’ is freaking ‘Chuan Qiang’!” Chen Junnan said, “Come in and sit? Young master will show you what ‘Chuan Qiang’ really is.”

After hearing this, neither Xu Liunian nor Jin Yuanxun said a word.

“What’s going on?” Chen Junnan said, looking puzzled. “Why are you both so polite? It’s just me in here, really.”

Xu Liunian thought for a few seconds and decided to probe the situation. She stayed outside and asked, “Chen Junnan, why do you have so many *zi*?”

“I can’t say right now.” Chen Junnan laughed, “I have to wait until Zhao Yisheng gets here.”

“Zhao Yisheng…?”

Due to the commotion they were making, people from Chu Tianqiu’s side started gathering at Chu He Han Jie.

When everyone arrived, Chen Junnan looked at the six people in front of him and smiled contentedly.

This was the “full psychological assault.”

“What’s happening…?” Wen Qiaoyun asked from the side. “Who is this person?”

“Zhao Yisheng, are you okay?” Chen Junnan asked.

“I…?” Zhao Yisheng was stunned. “What do you mean by ‘are you okay’?”

“Nothing.” Chen Junnan shook his head. “Lao Qi told me to let you know that the plan has started.”
